Abstract 

We appreciate the thoughtful comments by Drs, Bastien and Bonnet regarding our article and the opportunity provided by the Editors to respond to the issues raised. The reviewers make several critical points concerning both the beta EEG in insomnia literature and the neurocognitive model. Our summary of their concerns and our thoughts on the issues they raise are as follows.
